Simplifying Stuttering – Sweeney’s Blogs

Good afternoon everyone,

I hope you’re having a brilliant start to the weekend πŸ™‚

I’ve spoken about stuttering a lot on the page over the last five years and I think that sometimes, it is best to jump back into the basics and remind ourselves what we’re talking about and why it’s so important. With that in mind, let’s simplify stuttering in today’s blog.

Hello and Welcome to Sweeney’s Blogs!

I’ve had a stutter for as long as I can remember, and as I like to commonly say, it’s pretty safe to say that it has played a huge part of my life. For years, I struggled to understand and appreciate my speech, however, I realised the biggest change in my overall fluecy when I started to take the steps needed to change my mindset.

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learnt in recent years is that a lot of peopel are very supportuve of helping you out with your speech journey, it’s just that they don’t know how. Stuttering isn’t something that is taught much to people throighout their lives, so if you, or somebdoy in your close circle, hasn’t got one, it can be hard to know what to do and/or how to respond to a person who is stuttering.

I’ve made it a mission of mine to raise more awareness surrounding stutters and the impact they can have on people’s lives. To do this, we first need to start out with the basics, which is exacrly what we do in the blog below:

Be sure to check it out and let me know what you think πŸ™‚

Thanks for reading ad I hope you have a lovely day!
