Merry Christmas Everyone!

I hope you’re well and are having a fantastic start to a very festive week ahead 🙂

Today is the 23rd of December, so you know that means, there are only two days left until Christmas 2024. Personally, I love this time of year – we’ll take a look at some of the things I’m looking forward to in today’s blog.

Hello and Welcome to Sweeney’s Blogs!

Christmas, for me, has always been about spending time with those around you – be they friends, family, locals in the pub, you name it! I like to use the time to reflect and relax, taking stock of everything that has happened over the year and enjoying some fab food, company and some all-round quality (street!) vibes 🙂

As the year winds down, Christmas feels like the perfect time to pause and appreciate the little things that make life meaningful. There aren’t too many times when the majority of a family is off work and can celebrate some time in each other’s company. It’s a time of year that I have so many memories of growing up and looking ahead to the future, I cannot even begin to imagine what’s going to come next 😂

What’s more, alongside the magic that is Christmas dinner, this year is a huge one for festive specials – with the final ever episode of Gavin and Stacey (I’m not ready for this 😅, the return of Feather’s McGraw, one of the creepiest villains of all-time in Wallace and Gromit, an Outnumbered seasonal special and so many more gracing our screens. It’s looking like it’s going to be a good one!

As well as being a time to come together and celebrate with those closest to you, the festive season is also the ideal time to remember those who are no longer with us – the lessons that they shared, the love that they instilled in us and the ever-lasting legacies that they left behind. I’ll be raising a glass for Nana, Cap and Grampa, that’s for sure.
