Good morning,
How are you doing lately?
I’ve written over 700 blogs here on Sweeney’s Blogs from time to time, however, from time to time, even I struggle to think of ideas for fresh posts. We’re going to be taking a look at why this is completely normal in today’s blog.
Hello and Welcome to Sweeney’s Blogs!
Over the years, I’ve written about more topics that I can ever imagine, ranging from charity work to communications, mental health to stuttering, university, travelling and a whole load more.

I love writing blogs, and managing this page over the last six and a half years has given me so much. Whether it’s meeting new people, learning more about myself or massively improving my work as a writer, I wouldn’t be where I am today without Sweeney’s Blogs, that much is as clear as anything.
However, one thing that surprises some of the people I speak to about the page is that even with all of the experience I’ve got, I still occasionally struggle to think of ideas for posts.
When I first started out, I thought this made me a “bad blogger”, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. I am a real person, just like anybody else; I’m not going to have all the answers to everything each day. Sometimes, I have absolutely loads of ideas, and others, it takes a little while for them to spring to mind – both of which are very normal.

Now, there are lots of ways to spark different ideas – you can head out for a walk, look back on some of your previous blogs, chat with a friend, read a book, the list does well and truly go on. What I’ve found is that it varies from person to person.
My main piece of advice if you’re struggling with ideas is to go back to your why – why did you start this particular thing in the first place.
If I apply this to Sweeney’s Blogs, I started the page to create a platform where people can come to chat about what genuinely matters to them as individuals. With this in mind, I can technically write about absolutely anything; it all depends on what comes to my mind.

This blog isn’t a “cure-all” style blog; it’s more to remind others and myself that I’m a person running this page. I can’t guarantee what the future has in store, but what I can say is I’ll carry on figuring things out, thinking of ideas and telling stories for you all here 🙂
So there we have it, it’s been a bit of a different blog for today, but I hope you’ve enjoyed it! Would you like to see more blogs like this on the page? Do you have any ideas for other posts you’d like to see me write?
As always, I’d love to hear your thoughts ⤵️
Thanks for reading, and I hope you have a lovely day!
James
