Sweeney’s Blogs Update – June 2023

Good morning everyone,

I hope you’re all keeping well 🙂

We’re nearly halfway through June already, can you believe it?! I feel like time has been absolutely flying by this year, but such is life I guess! I only noticed the other day that I haven’t done a Sweeney’s Blogs update post for a while, so I reckon it’s high time that we fix that – which is what we are going to be doing in today’s blog.

Hello and Welcome to Sweeney’s Blogs!

Although the start of 2023 has been a very difficult couple of months for me, which is something that I’ll be expanding on in the coming weeks, so many good things have been going on too. So, just like how I usually do these update-style posts, I’ll break down some of what’s been going on into sections for you all 🙂

Guest Writers

You all probably know at this stage that I absolutely love having guest bloggers on the page. Guest bloggers bring a vast suite of different ideas, perspectives and viewpoints, that massively help to enrich and diversify the range of voices that I get to share here on Sweeney’s Blogs. Whether they come in the form of one-off guest posts or if they go on to join the team of regular writers, it’s an area that I am always happy to talk about more with anybody who is interested in getting involved.

In regards to our regular guest writers on the page, I am currently in talks with the team over different ideas for the future. If all goes to plan, they’ll be back to writing and sharing posts with you all before too long. The team are all super busy though, so it does depend on their schedules, but I am sure that we’ll make something work.

I am currently chatting to a few other new potential writers for the page too, as always, I’ll keep you updated if we get any other writers that start blogging for us. If you do know anybody else who may be interested too, feel free to fire them my way – I’d more than happily have a chat with them!

Career/ Professional Life

As I am sure a lot of you will already know, I have been working as a Junior Account Executive at Jargon PR for the last 7 months or so, and I am absolutely loving it there! I’m currently working with a fantastic range of clients all around the technology industry – helping them with their PR work and supporting them wherever I can.

Otherwise, I am still doing my triweekly posts over on my LinkedIn profile, sharing a new post every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, which has been going really well lately. I’m still trying to help mentor others wherever I can – I have currently got around 4 mentees on the go, who are all doing incredibly well with everything, which is fantastic to see.

Personal Update

On a more personal level, I have been taking the last couple of weeks a bit slower, while I come to terms with the events of the start of this year. Losing my grandmother has been incredibly difficult, and sadly, it’s not the only loss that my family have had to come to terms with lately, which I will update you all on in due course. It’s been a strange old experience, but we’ll get through it with some time, don’t you worry 🙂

On a more positive note, I am going to be heading off to London in just under 2 weeks, for what’s going to be a brilliant weekend! I’ll keep you all updated on how the trip goes – it’ll be lovely having some time to catch up with friends and spend some time away from a screen, I can’t lie.
