Good afternoon everyone,
I hope you’re all keeping well π
We’re well into the summer of 2023 now, and I think it’s the perfect time to reflect on how the last couple of months have been. As always, it’s been what can only be described as a journey, so without further ado, let’s take a look at what’s been happening and some of my thoughts about the next couple of months!
Hello and Welcome to Sweeney’s Blogs!
The last couple of years has been a rollercoaster ride, to say the least, with a whole range of ups and downs helping to make life the exciting and unpredictable mystery that we all know it to be.
With that being said, we are all blessed with the amazing capacity for reflection, allowing us to think back over the last couple of months – the things that went well, the things that didn’t quite go to plan and the areas that we can work on going forward.

I am a massive fan of self-reflection, it’s something that I try to encourage as many people to incorporate into their lives as I can. You get to gain such a lot from taking out a couple of minutes each day to appreciate the journey that you have been on, looking back at just how far you’ve come already, as well as preparing for what the future has in store.
If you haven’t tried self-reflection before, I’d definitely recommend it, you don’t know what you’re missing out on!
Focusing our attention back on the last couple of weeks though, I think it’s pretty safe to say that they haven’t been the best weather-wise. In the words of David Cassidy, “didn’t we have ourselves some kind of a summer”, but apart from the UK heat wave that we have at the start of June, the weather here has been pretty cold, wet and cloudy – but that’s not to say that we can’t make the most of the time all the same π

For me, I have been on a massive reading spree lately, and that has shown no signs of slowing down anytime soon! I’ve been delving into the world of fiction and fantasy, exploring the Grishaverse books, written by Leigh Bardugo, the wholesome read that is “Stepping Up” by Sarah Turner (I may do a full blog review on this book soon) and the twist-filled cycle of thrillers, which always make for a great read, to name but a few!
I’m going to be heading off on holiday soon, which for me is the perfect time to relax, grab a book and switch off to the world around me – talk about paradise right there! I may do some more book review-style blogs when I get back, we’ll have to wait and see1 I’ll do a full blog about my upcoming little break soon, don’t you worry π

On the topic of my holiday, the next couple of weeks are looking like they are going to be really exciting for me. I’m going away for a week at the end of August, I’m hoping to have a lovely little weekend in London during September and a potential Liverpool trip is on the cards, what’s not to love?!
This really helps build on my point from earlier on, although the weather hasn’t been the best as of late, that shouldn’t stop us from having a good laugh and making some fantastic memories wherever we can! Apart from the above little breaks, I’ll still be cracking on with my role at Jargon, while writing weekly blogs and LinkedIn posts to update you all on my thoughts, experiences and the other crazy things that happen all around us!

That’s all for today’s blog, what do you think? How’s your summer going? Have you managed to get up to much, or are you more of a winter person? What’s your highlight of 2023 so far?
Be sure to let me know your thoughts and answers to the above questions π
Thanks for reading and I hope you have a lovely day!
