I’m off on holiday!

Good morning everyone,

I hope you’re well and are having a lovely start to the day 🙂

I’m heading off on my family holiday to Cyprus this Wednesday, which is going to be a fantastic little trip away. I’m going to be breaking down my thoughts and feelings about this upcoming vacation in today’s blog.

Hello and Welcome to Sweeney’s Blogs!

We all love a good holiday, don’t we? A chance to unwind, explore a different culture and take a small break from the rest of the world. I’ve always loved going on holidays – the food, the weather, the people you meet, it’s such a rewarding experience.

The last couple of years have truly been a stressful time for so many of us, with a global pandemic, the cost of living crisis and more adding to the pressure that a lot of people face on a daily basis. It’s in these times, that events and getaways like a holiday are so important, they give us a chance to relax and recharge – to reflect on the last couple of months and begin to prepare for whatever it is that is going to be coming next.

Personally, the last couple of years have been a truly unusual experience, with finishing university, entering the world, navigating whatever the future has in store and more. It’s been a strange old ride, but I’m very proud of how I have dealt with each of the obstacles that have risen along the way.

In saying all of this, I 100% need a holiday. I’ve been working incredibly hard over the last 10 months, since first starting at Jargon, but what took me a long time to realise is that I wasn’t giving myself enough rest. I’ve always been the type of person who preaches about the importance of taking a break from work, so it’s well overdue that I practise what I preach and make the most of a good break, it is very well deserved after all.

Taking a break from work is so important, especially when you work in creative industries such as PR, where you have always to think of new ideas and approaches to the way in which you work. Having that time where you can just switch off is vital, and allows you to be so much more productive when you return to work from your break.

I’m going to be heading off to Cyprus for a week with my parents. We have already been to Cyrpus before, on a family wedding back in 2013, so it’ll be brilliant to be able to revisit the island for a proper holiday this time around. I’m really looking forward to a nice bit of sun, some stunning food and views that are just going to be out of this world.

As a lot of you may know, I am a massive fan of mythology, and with Cyprus being a hotspot for Greek mythology, with it being the birthplace of Aphrodite, and so much more, I am going to be in my element out there! I’ve already got a cracking reading list planned too, and depending on how it all goes, I may have some really cool and refreshing blogs to share with you all when I get back.

Don’t you worry though, I’m not going to be going anywhere when it comes to Sweeney’s Blogs – I’m going to be pre-writing and scheduling posts to go live while I’m away, so it’ll be like I’m here with you all the entire time. It’ll be business as usual when I get back then, as we have a load of content pathways that are just waiting to be explored.

Until then though, it’s vacation mode on for me, so I’ll see you all soon 🙂

Thanks for reading and I hope you have a lovely day!
