A Sweeney in London – March 2025

Good afternoon everyone,

Hope you’re keeping well πŸ™‚

Last weekend, I was in London for a fab weekend of laughs, good memories and time spent with amazing people. We’ll be taking a look at the trip and what I got up to in today’s blog.

Hello and Welcome to Sweeney’s Blogs!

I like to try and get a London trip once a quarter, to catch up with friends, explore the city and generally relax and unwind. I’ve been doing this for the last two years or so at this point and have been loving them all so far.

So, what did I get up to this time around, here’s a little summary for you: ‡️

πŸ‘‰ Friday Afternoon – I went along to co-working with my friends Gareth, Hannah, John and Ryan at Old Sessions House in Farringdon. Hannah and I had a lovely walk and talk in the spring sun, making the most of some fab, sunny weather

πŸ‘‰ Friday Evening – I met up with the fantastic Undefinable Community to celebrate our second birthday (I’ll do a full post on this soon), ending up in a pub singing Pop Punk classics in Hoxton. I cannot believe the group is two years old already, where has the time gone?!

πŸ‘‰ Saturday – Rob, Dan, Tom and I went to an insane Brazilian Steakhouse, then to watch the Book of Mormon on the West End (easily one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen), before heading over to a board game cafe to play some nice, relaxing board games (I came second, but it was very very close!)

πŸ‘‰ Sunday Morning – I had a brilliant, well-overdue catch-up with my friend Lewis in Shoreditch (after getting lost at first, happens to us all I guess πŸ˜…). I don’t get to see Lewis too much, but our catch-ups are always really nice when we find a way to make them work with our diaries πŸ™‚

πŸ‘‰ Sunday Afternoon – I met up with one of my incredible mentees, Wesley, in person for the first time for a great walk and talk and a classic Sweeney London visit to Foyles. It’s scary how similar we are, Wes – here’s to loads more catch-ups to come 🍻

What a jam-packed visit it turned out to be, I had a whale of a time! Thanks to everyone for making the time to see me, it’s always very much appreciated and never goes unnoticed.

That’s all for today’s blog, what do you think? Have you had any interesting trips away lately? Got anything cool planned in the next couple of weeks?

I’d love to hear your thoughts.

Thanks for reading and I hope you have a lovely day!

James
