Let’s talk about solo dates…

Good morning,

How are you doing today?

Over the last couple of years, I’ve loved learning and starting to do more solo dates in my life. We’re going to be taking a look at what I mean about this in today’s blog and why they are so good to try to do.

Hello and Welcome to Sweeney’s Blogs!

For years and years, I kept saying that I wanted to do a load of different things; however, I had to wait for someone or a group of people to do them with. This list was growing by the year, all the while, I was putting the things I really wanted to do on hold for some mysterious future day/date.

2023 was an incredibly difficult year for my family; however, if it taught me anything, it’s that we don’t know what’s coming next. I made a promise to myself after getting through it that I was going to live my life as much as I could from that point on, which is what I feel like I have certainly been doing a lot more over the last two and a half years.

Solo dates are intentional activities that someone does by themselves. I’ve done a load of different ones, from going on holiday, going to see a Broadway show, eating at nice restaurants, and so many more. While they aren’t for everyone, I find them a really enjoyable experience.

There is something so fulfilling about thriving in your own company. I find that these solo dates have actually made me enjoy spending time with others too – it makes you much more grounded and aware of who you are, whether that is in a group or rocking it by yourself.

So, I pass the challenge to you — have you ever tried going on a solo date? Is there something you’ve always wanted to do, something you could do by yourself if you want, but have just been waiting for the right moment? Are you tempted to give it a try now?

I’d love to hear your thoughts 😊

Thanks for reading, and I hope you have a lovely day!
