Good afternoon π
Hope you’ve had a fab start to the weekend.
The festive season is upon us! As we’re only five days away from Christmas Day, I thought we could take a trip down memory lane for today’s blog. With this in mind, we’re going to be taking a look at the Welsh tradition of Mari Lwyd π΄
Hello and Welcome to Sweeney’s Blogs!
If you know me or have been following the page for a while, you know that I love tapping into different cultural stories from all over the world. We’ve covered it all over the last couple of years, from Japan to the US, parts of Asia and more.

As I’m a very proud Weshman, born and raised in the Swansea valleys, I always like to share some of the stories and traditions from my home soil – which is exactly what I’m doing today.
So, without further ado, let’s revisit the Welsh tradition of Mari Lwyd, the horse that raps and tries to steal all your things. What’s not to love?! π
Be sure to check it out and let me know what you think.
Does your country or home have any unique Christmas traditons? Feel free to share them ‡οΈ
Thanks for reading, and I hope you have a lovely day!
