Good morning π
What’s something that’s made you smile recently?
I’ve had the pleasure of running this page for over seven years at this point. In that time, there have been over 750 blogs posted across Sweeney’s Blogs – a huge load of content, that has hopefully made a difference to people’s lives, and reminds them that if they have a topic that matters to them, they are more than welcome to share and write about it π
We’re going to be taking a look at something a bit different today. I’ve been meaning to test out some occasional blogs like this for a while, so let’s give it a go.
Hello and Welcome to Sweeney’s Blogs!
When you’ve been writing for as long as I have, it’s natural that sometimes, you are either going to use similar phrasing or discuss a topic that you have already done in the past. While this may appear to be “lazy”, there is actually a lot more value to it than some people realise at first.

A lesson I’ve learnt a lot over the last few years is about timing, and the role it plays in how your content is seen, perceived and remembered.
Let’s say you were having a particularly busy week, or things weren’t going according to plan, you may not be in the right frame of mind to read about a given topic. If that post was shared again in a couple of months, slightly rewritten or shared as is, you may gain a lot more value from it.
There’s no right or wrong answer with this kind of thing; like many things in this area of life, it’s subjective by nature; however, when you think about it, it does make a lot of sense. Sometimes, the same idea can take on a completely different meaning depending on when you come across it.

I try my best to keep the blogs as fresh and engaging as I can for you all. We cover so many different areas here on the page, from travel and culture to mental health, stuttering, job updates, awareness days, and sporting events, the list goes on!
There may be times when I am talking about a topic a lot more for a given time. To use a quick example, I spoke a lot about Alzheimer’s last September for Alzheimer’s Awareness month. There is usually a lot of thought put into how all of this plays out, but I wanted to do a blog like this to be open and honest about how I view the posts I share on here with you.
I know this is a bit of a different blog style from what I usually share on Sweeney’s Blogs – would you be interested in more blogs like this? Behind-the-scenes deep dives, and me sharing some of the lessons I have learnt (and will deffo continue to do so), from running this awesome page?

Be sure to let me know – all feedback is welcome π€
Thanks for reading and I hope you have a lovely day!
James
