My Skydive for Alzheimer’s Story

Five years ago, I jumped out of a plane…

From 12,000 feet in the air, talk about a leap of faith 🤯

In today’s blog, we’re going to be exploring my “Charity Skydive for Alzheimer’s” story, to celebrate the five-year anniversary since I took the jump. To this day, it has got to be one of my life’s best, most terrifying yet exciting experiences.

Hello and Welcome to Sweeney’s Blogs!

My grandmother fought Alzheimer’s for over nine years, until her passing earlier this year. Coming to terms with my grandmother’s diagnosis was one of the most challenging things that I have ever experienced in my life and it’s something that took me a long time to process.

At first, I didn’t have a clue what to think or what to do, so I decided to phone up the Alzheimer’s Society’s hotline number, to see if they could help me. Without all of the care and support that I received from their team, I honestly do not know how I would have gotten through it all. I decided to do a charity skydive, raising money for them a couple of years later, as a sign of my gratitude – here’s the full story:
