Good afternoon everyone,
Hope you’re all keeping well 🙂
Last weekend, I went to London for a little break, exploring the city and catching up with amazing people. We’ll take a look at some of the different things I got up to there in today’s blog.
Hello and Welcome to Sweeney’s Blogs!
I try and go to London every three months or so, to give myself a break, test out different places and catch up with friends. I’ve been doing this over the last two years and always look forward to seeing what my next trip has in store.
Here’s what I got up to this time around: ⤵️
🍻 Friday – I had a well-overdue catch-up with my friend Lewis in Shoreditch House. I was super nervous when travelling up on the train to London as my speech has been a little jumpy lately, however, when speaking to Lewis, I was more or less completely fluent, so there was nothing to worry about after all!
☕️ Saturday Morning – I met up with my friend Hassan for the first time in the Photobox Cafe in Shoreditch. I’ve known Hassan for over four years on Linkedin, so it was great to finally get a chance to see him in person – here’s to many more coffees and chats to come
📚 Saturday Afternoon – I went to Foyles in Charing Cross for a couple of hours, looking at books from all different genres, countries and authors. I love going to Foyles, I end up speaking to all sorts of interesting people there.
🙌 Saturday Afternoon – I had a cracking tour of London from Joe, strolling down some lovely places, making the most of the fantastic weather. After having a couple of trips to London, it was awesome to see more of the crazy, non-stop city.
🦖 Sunday – A couple of my friends from the Undefinable Community and I went to the National Science and History museums. I haven’t been to either museum in over 15 years, so it was lovely to properly appreciate and understand the exhibits there.
Although this trip was a bit more impromptu than usual, I’m super grateful that I decided to go up. After a really busy couple of weeks at work, it was exactly what I needed. Hopefully, I can schedule one final London trip for 2024.
That’s all for today’s blog, what a trip! How’s your weekend going so far? Do you have any exciting trips planned for the rest of this year? Are there any topics you’d like to see me write about?
I’d love to hear your thoughts 🙂
Thanks for reading and I hope you have a lovely day!
