My 2024 New Year’s Resolutions – 9 Months In

Good morning everyone,

I hope you’re keeping well 🙂

We’re over three-quarters of the way through 2024, can you believe it?! As this year is absolutely flying by, I think it’s only right to dive into how I’m doing on my goals for the year in today’s blog.

Hello and Welcome to Sweeney’s Blogs!

At the start of this year, I set myself a range of goals designed to keep pushing me out of my comfort zone and growing as a person. I’ve been doing quarterly updates here on the page, breaking down my progress during 2024.

With that in mind, here is how I’ve been getting on since June ⤵️

✍️ Carry on writing my first book – I’ve decided to change tact here and take it a bit slower, I’ll expand on this soon. It’s been more a case of making sure I focus on the quality of the book, it’s not a process that I want to rush through and ruin, especially after putting so much time, effort and thought into the whole storyline. We’re still about 60,000-65,000 words of the way through, so we’ve been making some steady progress

🗣️ Continue improving my speech fluency – my stutter went through a shaky patch lately, however, we are thankfully getting well back on track. My speech feels like it has been a lot better over the last week or two, which is always lovely to see

🛫 Have my first solo holiday – I went to Porto for six days in August for an incredible trip! Here’s to many more to come moving forward

👋 Meet more LinkedIn connections in person – I’ve met so many people in person this year, from weekend trips to London, social media conferences and a whole host of other ways, it’s all been fab

📚 Read at least 50 books – I’m currently on my 54th book for the year, which is crazy! I may do a couple extra blog posts on some of the books I’ve read, we’ll see how we do

With only three months left in 2024, who knows what else this year has in store. Things have been a little mental over the last couple of weeks, so I’m looking forward to slotting in extra breaks to help me recharge and unwind, ready for whatever is coming next.
