Six years of blogging, what’s changed?

Hope you’re all keeping well 🙂

Six years. Over 600 blogs. Thousands of words, stories, lessons, and fantastic people I’ve met along the way. We’re going to be reflecting on these last couple of years and how they’ve shaped me into who I am to this day in today’s blog.

Hello and Welcome to Sweeney’s Blogs!

When I first started Sweeney’s Blogs on February 3rd 2019, I had no idea where it would take me. However, looking back on our journey so far, I couldn’t be more grateful for it all. Six years later, we’re still here, changing, evolving and growing. Yet, in many ways, it hasn’t changed at all.

So, what’s changed since we first started the page?

✅ I graduated from the University of Reading with an undergraduate degree in Management with Information Technology, secured my first full-time job and became way more confident in who I am as a person

✅ Loads of incredible opportunities – public speaking (with my next session coming at the end of this month, more to come on this soon), community building (with the Undefinables and so many more), mentoring and a whole host of other brilliant opportunities

✅ My writing style has matured, allowing me to write more passionately about grief, mental health and self-discovery

What hasn’t changed?

👉 I’m hugely passionate about the power of storytelling – how words can change lives, even in the smallest of ways

👉 I still occasionally get nervous when pressing “publish”, however, I always go back to why I started the page in the first place

👉 I write for the same reason – to share, to reflect and to connect to one another as real people

Six years on, and I have no plans of stopping anytime soon – here’s to more blogs, stories, and learning along the way. As always, I’ll keep you updated on the journey as we carry on going, with posts, memories and whatever else life has in store for us moving forward.
