Regaining the confidence to speak…

Good afternoon 👋

Hope you’re having an awesome start to the week!

I’ve talked about my speech a lot here on the page over the last six years, and rightfully so – it’s played an enormous role in my life. We’re going to take more of a personal route todya, taking a look at my stuttering journey since March 2020.

Hello and Welcome to Sweeney’s Blogs!

Back in 2020, I could barely speak 😶

Every sentence I tried to say, I would stutter every other word, and it threw my confidence massively. The first lockdown was in full effect, and in all honesty, I didn’t know how I was going to bounce back from it all.

Flash forward to today, my speech has never been better. I’m more or less at a fluent speech level, which still feels strange to say, but even better to type. It’s taken a huge amount of work to get here; however, I think it’s so important to value the personal achievements we earn in life 🙏

Part of my mission in life is to remind you all that you have a voice. If you’re struggling to find yours, know that you’re not alone. You can get there. Your story matters, and your words do too 😎

I’ll write more posts about my stuttering journey moving forward, but if there’s anything in particular you want to know, drop me a line – I’m an open book. I feel like posts like this are what we need to remind ourselves about from time to time, to give us a second to look back on our journeys and celebrate the progress we have made together.

That’s all for today’s blog. What do you think? Would you like to see more posts like this moving forward? How are the next few weeks looking for you?

I’d love to hear your thoughts 🙂

Thanks for reading and I hope you have a lovely day!

James
