A 12,000 Feet Jump…

Good afternoon,

Seven years ago today, I jumped out of a plane at 12,000 feet 🪂

Why did I do it? Well, that’s exactly what we’re going to be taking a look at in today’s blog, as we celebrate the seventh anniversary of my “Skydive for Azheimer’s” story.

Hello and Welcome to Sweeney’s Blogs!

On 20th October 2018, I did a tandem skydive for the Alzheimer’s Society, raising over £960, as a tribute to my grandmother. Looking back, it was one of the most meaningful things I have ever done 😊

I remember as the plane started to depart, being sat there absolutely terrified. Then the cameraman jumped out of the plane doing flips, and I thought I had actually gone insane – it was all so worth it though.

The freefall doesn’t last too long; however, those minutes stay with you forever. The views of Swansea, the coast and the valleys – they are impossible to forget. Absolutely beautiful, they were, incredible.

A bonus little fact for you: my cousin paid the person I was jumping with to say our parachute wouldn’t open, so for the first 3,000 feet, I was genuinely screaming for my life. Family aye, what else do you expect 🙃

I’ve shared this story every year since; however, it means a lot to me because it reminds me why I took that leap in the first place.

Here’s to taking leaps, big or small, that remind us what we’re capable of 🙌

That’s all for today’s blog. What do you think? How’s your week ahead looking? What’s a story you always love looking back on?

I’d love to hear your thoughts ⤵️

Thanks for reading and I hope you have a lovely day
