It’s okay to feel how you feel this January

Good morning ๐Ÿ‘‹

How are you doing this morning?

The start of the year is often a very positive and exciting time for many, as they strive to begin the year as they mean to go on – making plans, redefining themselves, and adjusting their priorities for the next 12 months.

However, if this doesn’t sound like you, or doesn’t feel like something that would work for you, that’s completely okay, and is what we’ll be looking at today.

Hello and Welcome to Sweeney’s Blogs!

In modern-day life, it can be so easy to compare yourself to others. With the continued integration of social media (which can be a huge positive too, something I want to talk about a lot more on the page moving forward), it can be easy to feel like you’re falling behind, whatever it is that means.

As I mentioned at the start of this blog, January can be a very optimistic time for many. This blog isn’t discrediting that in the slightest. I love seeing how people approach the concept of the new year and the positive, cumulative actions they take to improve themselves in all manner of ways.

However, if you’re currenty sat there and aren’t feeling too good, or aren’t feeling like making a lot of plans, that is entirely valid too.

We are all human beings, each with our own pasts which have shaped our present circumstances, and our aspirations for the future. If you’ve currently got a lot going on in your life, and haven’t got the “hwyl” as we call it in Wales, or the spirit/push/drive to want to do these things, it’s okay. I see you, and this is a reminder that you’re on your respective journey through life.

One thing I do want to remind you all of, regardless of how you are approaching planning for 2026, is that if you feel like you need a bit of extra help, it’s always available, should you need it. Whether that’s by chatting to a friend, family member, colleague, or reaching out to professional services, you don’t have to do this alone.

So, however you’re thinking or feeling now, I see you. It’s okay to be okay, it’s okay to not be okay. Personally, I’m very much looking forward to what the enxt 12 months have in store – I’m sure there’ll be more twists and turns than I can begin to count, but we’ll get through it in our own way.

Happy Monday, everyone! I hope you have a wonderful week ahead.

Thanks a lot for reading and I’ll catch you in the next one,

James
