Good morning π
What’s one small thing someone has done for you recently which you really appreciated?
Life seems very tough lately, I’m not going to lie and pretend otherwise. It’s easy to feel like no matter what we do, we can’t make a difference – when, in reality, that couldn’t be further from the truth. So, let this blog act as a reminder, that you (yes, you) can make a difference.
Hello and Welcome to Sweeney’s Blogs!
If you’ve taken a look at the news over the last couple of years, it’s natural that it can make you feel a bit down. There is a lot of uncertainty going around at the moment, and some of that is showing no signs of slowing down anytime soon.

However, all of this doesn’t shadow the potential that we all have to create some good in the world. I’ve said it a fair few times here over the years, but it’s not the size of the action that you take – sometimes, it’s the intention which does a lot of the heavy lifting.
I’m not going to write too long a piece on this, as I want to keep it short and straight to the point. Whether you:
π Buy someone some flowers, a treat or a coffee
π Give someone a compliment that you see today
π Message a friend you haven’t seen for a while for a catch-up
There are a million other ways to do it, and I’m sure you catch my point! If you set yourself to do one of these actions a week, then one a day, you’ll be surprised at how much the impact compounds over time.
Say I message someone and let them know they are being thought of. They might think, “Oh, that’s a lovely idea. I’m going to pay it forward and message someone else too”. From your one message, you’ve already potentially impacted two lives, maybe even more. How cool is that?

So, no matter what might be going on in your life or in those around you, never forget – you can make a difference.
Let me give you a challenge to close off today. Why don’t you do one random act of kindness – either to someone you know, or to a complete stranger?
Be sure to let me know if you do, and what happens because of it. Even if nothing comes of it, it’s still a lovely thing to set out and do π
Thanks a lot for reading, and I’ll, hopefully, catch you in the next one.
James
