Sweeney’s Blogs Update – August 2020

Sweeney’s Blogs has gone through a lot of changes over the last few months, and I haven’t really taken the chance to sit down and discuss what has been happening with the page and where I am planning on going with it in the future! There hasn’t been an update post since April 2020, so here is a Sweeney Update for 2020!

Hello and Welcome to Sweeney’s Blogs!

Sweeney’s Blogs has been doing amazingly well recently and that is all down to all of you, our readers. We have talked about so many different topics, launched some great new blog series and even had the great opportunity to release a couple of gust blogs. The page itself has been very busy since the start of lockdown, so one questions shines out for me, what exactly has been happening?

Firstly, we have reached over 11,500 views on the page! Passing 11,500 views is a massive milestone to achieve and shows that we are well on our way to meeting our year-end goal of 15,000 total views! I just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone who has helped the page to grow to where it is today.

If it wasn’t for all of you reading the blogs, writing guest posts, commenting your views and sharing your advice and tips with me, then I would not be anywhere near where I am today! If you do have any ideas for posts or blogs that you would like to see in the next few weeks, please do let me know and I can see what I can do for you!

Since the start of the lockdown we have been running two different blog series of the page. The Ideas for Lockdown series started on April 4th 2020 and to date there are 13 blogs in the series, which are all available to view through the Ideas for Lockdown page that I have created, whose link will be available under this.

In regards to whether or not I will bring the series back, in all honesty I am not 100% sure yet. So far I have covered a large range of activities that we can do during lockdown and as the restrictions are easing and people are allowed to slowly start regaining that sense of normality, it may be best to run a closing blog soon and put the series on hold.

If you do want to see the series make a return though, do let me know and I am sure that I can find some more things to write about. If you have any ideas for blogs in the series that you would like to see me write, or that you would like to write yourself, chuck me a message and I will see what I can do!

The other series that is currently running on the page, which is a personal favourite of mine, is the “What do we mean by Success?” series! This series takes a look at success, a small word that carries with it a much larger definition and impact on our lives. Throughout the series, I take a look at the different factors that can influence what we see as success and discuss how success means something different to everyone!

In regard to where the series will go and if I will keep it going, the answer is undecided at the moment. I am hoping that I can think of some more really great ideas for blogs in the series, but I do not just want to keep writing them for the sake of it, as that is not how I like to write my blogs.

What I am hoping to do is to get some guest blogs on what success means to different people, so if you would like to share what success means to you, then please do let me know and we can see what great ideas we can come up with! I do really love writing the series so I do hope I can keep it going!

The blog schedule itself changed when I started my year-long placement around 5 weeks ago. Before I started my placement I was posting three blogs a week, which provided everyone with tonnes of new blogs and content to read through.

When I started my placement, I still wanted to get that level and quality of content out, but instead of doing three blogs a week and almost having to rush them, I toned it down to two blogs a week and made sure that those blogs were of a great quality. Blogs are now released every Monday and Saturday for the page, which is going to stay the same for the whole year hopefully.

So, what does the future of the page look like?

Well, as a lot of you may know, our partnership with hhruk is running really nicely. There have been 5 blogs/articles in the partnership so far and there will hopefully be a lot more to come in the future. What I am hoping to do in the next few weeks is to make a new page on this page where all of the blogs will be available, to make it easier to find and view the partnership blogs.

We are also in the process of finishing off our first course, which is going to be about Mental Health in the workplace. I found it really interesting and insightful writing and creating the course and hope that, when it is finished, that it can revolutionise the way that we see Mental Health and the part that it pays in our life.

For the blog series, I hope I can keep the “What do we mean by Success?” series going but only time will tell there! If I do stop the “Ideas for Lockdown” series, then I will be looking at starting a brand new series to replace that in the next couple of weeks.

With relation to the guest blogs and individual blogs that I write for the page, I plan on keeping these coming as much as i can. If you would like to write a guest post for the page, or have an idea that you want to see me do, message me and I am sure we can make that thought into a reality.

That’s all I wanted to talk about in today’s Sweeney’s Blogs Update! Thank you all for reading! What do you think? Is there anything you would like to see on the page in the next few weeks? Are there any series ideas that you would like to see me do? Do you have any stories that you would like to share on the page? Let me know your answers and thoughts, either down below or through our Facebook page!

Thank you all for reading and I hope you have an amazing day!
