Good afternoon everyone,
I hope that you’re all having a fantastic start to the weekend!
Failure, it’s a topic that I’ve covered a few times before on the page, but I haven’t looked at it too much lately. I’ve been reflecting quite a bit on what failure means to me lately, and I thought that I would do a little blog on the subject as I go along 🙂
Hello & Welcome to Sweeney’s Blogs!
When I was growing up, I always used to pride myself on achieving high grades throughout my schooldays, but when I reached college, things seemed to have changed rather drastically. I was used to getting A’s & A*’s, however, in college, I kept on coming out with C’s, D’s & E’s. While these aren’t necessarily bad grades, at the time, I did feel like a bit of a failure.
It took me a long time, but I finally realised that I needed to shift my mindset…

When I was in college, I:
👉 Faced the most terrifying battle with my Mental Health
👉 Started to lose my grandmother to Alzheimer’s
👉 Survived a near-fatal operation
I wasn’t failing, I was doing my best in the horrible circumstances that I was in at the time 😁🙌🙌

As Alan Donegan from the Rebel Business School taught me, on a business course back in June 2018 – “Failure is only a curve on the road to success” 🌻🌴🌻
My college years taught me so much, and although I didn’t do the best grades-wise, I’m still very proud of them. All of the successes & failures that I have had in life have helped shape me into the person that I am to this day, and I am sure that they will continue to do that for the person that I am going to become going forward. 🕺🏼💃🕺🏼
Would I change the failures if I could? I honestly would say no, as they have made me the James Connor Sweeney that I am today.

The only failure that I can never get away from is my hair in the photo above, what was I thinking?😂🤷♂️😂
That’s all for today’s blog, what do you think? What does failure mean to you? What’s the biggest lesson that you’ve learnt from failure?
Be sure to let me know your thoughts & answers to the above questions, either in the comments below or through our Facebook page!
Thanks for reading & I hope you have a lovely day!
