I hope that you are having a great day and enjoying the week so far!
My name is Giles, I am a good friend of Sweeney’s. I am the newest member of the Sweeney’s Blog team, and I thought I would use this introductory blog to tell you all a little about myself 🙂
Hello & Welcome to Sweeney’s Blogs!
I am a 3rd-year Business and management student at the University of Reading. Originally from Oxfordshire, I have also lived in Shropshire and Berkshire! I am so excited to be on board with this fantastic team, and I cannot wait to get writing blogs for the page.
My aim during my time at Sweeney’s Blogs is to share some of my experiences with challenging, exciting and scary things that people may face daily. In no way am I an expert, but if what I write could help somebody out, then it would feel like a job well done!
In today’s life, we are faced with increasing amounts of pressure, whether at university, in the workplace, socially or on the sports pitch; it’s something we all feel, but interestingly enough, don’t talk much about. I wish to write about my own experiences in tackling things like social difficulties, performance anxiety and fear of public speaking all while building self-confidence and maintaining constant motivation!
Learning how to smile more, worry less and build self-confidence has helped me go from being a timid individual to being the President of the University Entrepreneurship Society and someone who will take any opportunity to practice public speaking. I feel I have a lot of exciting things to share, and I cannot wait to get started! If you feel like this sounds like something you’d benefit from, be sure not to miss any of Sweeney’s Blogs for a fun environment where you can learn so much potentially about yourself and others!
Thank you so much for reading my first blog, what do you think? Are there any particular topics that you’d like to see me write about?
Be sure to let us know your answers, either in the comments below or through our Facebook page!
Thank you, have a great day and see you next time!
