Reflecting on Cyprus 2023…

I hope you’re having a lovely start to the weekend 🙂

My week of paradise out in Cyprus came to a close last Wednesday, but what an incredible holiday it turned out to be. We’ll be taking a look at some of my thoughts and the things that we got up to in today’s blog.

Hello and Welcome to Sweeney’s Blogs!

Cyprus 2023, what a lovely holiday you were. Although you flew by in the blink of an eye, it was fantastic to be able to visit another country and enjoy some top-tier weather, food and culture!

We have been to Cyprus once before, back in 2013 for a family wedding, so it was great to be able to have a holiday this time around, where we could visit all of the sights and places that we didn’t have time to go to last year. It was crazy seeing how much of the island has changed over the last 10 years, and as there are still a load of construction and redevelopment projects going on, we’ll have to go back there sometime in the future to see what else has changed 🙂

This was my first proper holiday abroad in over 4 years, and what a relaxing one it turned out to be. I originally planned to do a load of work while I was out there, planning and writing content for both you guys here on Sweeney’s Blogs and for my LinkedIn page, but in reality, I did next to nothing, and I couldn’t be happier about that – a little break was 100% worth it.

From lamb kleftico to swordfish, souvlaki to beef stifados, the food literally could not have been better out there.

We also got to visit Aphrodite’s Rock, Nea Paphos and the Tomb of the Kings, which for a mythology lover like me was absolutely amazing. I will more than likely to do bigger, more in-depths blogs on these places going forward, as there are so many stories and pieces of culture associated with them that would be great to explore in the future, be sure to let me know if you’d be interested in seeing those blogs.

Stunning weather, cracking food and breathtaking views, what more could you ask for 🤷‍♂️
