An Undefinable Weekend…

Last weekend, from the 26th-28th of February, I joined 20 amazing fellow members of the Undefinable Community in Hereford, for our first weekend retreat of 2024. We’ll be taking a look at some of the different things that we got up to in today’s blog. So, without further ado, let’s get cracking.

Hello and Welcome to Sweeney’s Blogs!

Around March last year, I met up with an inspiring group of people, who all came together to join the Undefinable Community. We see this community as a place where young change-makers, who see themselves as more than just their job title, can get together, celebrating our unique strengths and personalities, with the intention of making as much of a difference in the world as we can.

As a group, we meet uploads of time each month, whether that’s in-person or virtually, but one of the most exciting things that we do has got to be our weekend retreats. We do these four times a year, making for the perfect time for us all to catch up, have a laugh and make some truly fantastic memories as a group. To kickstart 2024, we had our first retreat in Hereford, which luckily for me, wasn’t too far for me to travel 😄

Here are some of the things that we got up to:

We had our own version of the television show, Taskmaster for the opening night, which was such a good laugh
A 12km hike around the Brecon Beacons, passing Offa’s Dyke and the Wales/England border, which even included some mid-walk Elvis impressions – I mean what hike worth its time wouldn’t have a bit of Elvis?
I got to meet so many of our incredible members in person for the first time, which was absolutely fantastic
Loads of breathwork, yoga, group activities and relationship-building
Lots of deep and meaningful conversations, where everyone got to open up about the experiences that have shaped them into the brilliant people that they are to this day

It was easily one of the best weekends of my life, I’m massively grateful to be a part of such an uplifting and supportive community. Although we have only all been together for almost a year, it feels like I have known some of the members for years and years. I cannot wait for the next one already, it’s going to be so good 🤩

What a weekend, what a place, what a community!

It’s something to be a part of our group, but it’s a whole other kettle of fish when you’re a part of a group that you feel valued, listened to and appreciated for being the person that you are. A community is valued by the strength of the personalities and relationships of each of its members, which in our case, makes the Undefinables priceless 🙂
