My Trip to China…

Good afternoon everyone,

I hope you’re having a lovely start to the weekend 🙂

Seven years ago, I went to China, spending three days in Beijing and four days in Shanghai, it was easily up there with one of the best experiences of my life. We’re going to be exploring this trip a little bit further for you all in today’s blog.

Hello and Welcome to Sweeney’s Blogs!

We went there on a college trip with Gower College Swansea, as a combination of the Accountancy and Business departments. We ended up doing so much over the course of the week, including:

🧗 Climbing a part of the Great Wall of China

☕️ Experiencing a fantastic Chinese Tea-Tasting session

🚅 Taking the Bullet Train from Beijing to Shanghai

⛩️ Visiting the Temple of Life, Tiananmen Square and the Marble Boat

🎭 Watching a live Chinese theatre production

One of my personal favourite things about China was how deeply embedded their heritage is, even in their modern culture. Walking down the streets of Beijing, you can see the remains of old temple gates in the streets, there were still real monks praying in the temples and some of the architecture was just incredible.

Looking back, I am so glad that I signed up for the trip, I’d love to do something like that again one day! I even ended up saving a coursemate’s life out there on our first day, however, that’s a story for another day I think…

There are so many amazing places that I’d love to visit all over the world, who knows where I’ll end up next 👀

That’s all for today’s blog, what do you think? What’s one place that you’d love to visit one day? What’s been your favourite holiday so far?

I’d love to hear your thoughts ⤵️

Thanks for reading and I hope you have a lovely day!
