Good afternoon everyone,
I hope you’re keeping well 🙂
Last week, my parents and I went to Fuerteventura for a break from the recent questionable Welsh weather and to celebrate my dad’s 60th birthday. We’ll take a look at some of what we got up to in today’s blog.
Hello and Welcome to Sweeney’s Blogs!
2024 has been a load of little adventures for me, from Portugal to Suffolk, the Canary Islands to London and a whole load more. I made a promise to myself at the start of 2024 to have as many little trips as I can moving forward, which has been going really well so far
Back to the topic at hand, though, here is some of what we got up to in Fuerteventura:
🧗 Climbed up a local landmark called the Calderón Hondo Volcano, seeing some great views and loads of little chipmunks, which the volcano is quite well known for. It was around a three-four hours round trip there, well worth it I’d say
🍹 Drank cocktails, read some books, chatted with different people and caught up on some overdue downtime. I feel like life has been moving at a million miles per hour lately, so some relaxation time was deffo needed
🎤 Sang at karaoke for three nights on the bounce – from Tom Jones to The Temptations, Solomon Burke to Barry White, I sang them all!
🏝️ Visited Lobos Island to check out its stunning views and ended up climbing a mountain (doing that in flip-flops was not my finest move by any means…). Just a heads up, if you visit Lobos Island, there is so much walking to do there, it is for sure worth it
Looking back, it was such a well-needed break, although I looked like a walking lobster for a little while, I wouldn’t have had it any other way. I even made a new friend out there, look how happy he looks to have had a photo with me 😂

Well, that’s all for today’s blog, what do you think? Do you have any fun plans coming soon? What’s been the highlight of the last couple of weeks for you?
I’d love to hear your thoughts ⤵️
Thanks for reading and I hope you have a lovely day!
