Good afternoon everyone,
Hope you’re having a fab start to the weekend 🙂
Last weekend, I travelled to Valencia for what turned out to be a fantastic little break away. We’re going to be taking a look at some of what I got up to on the trip and my thoughts about it all in today’s blog.
Hello and Welcome to Sweeney’s Blogs!
Two very good friends of mine, Charlie and Jess, decided to press pause on the chaos that is the London life, to spend three months in Valencia, starting in January. A couple of weeks ago, they asked me and some of our friends if we’d fancy going over to seem them – to which we of course said yes, sign us up!

With the weather being so poor, it didn’t take much convincing for us to be on board for a little adventure, plus we’d get to catch up with friends at the same time. What’s not to love?!
Here’s some of what we got up to there ⤵️
👉 Thursday – Anna and I nearly missed our flight (my bad there 😂), as I thought we had way more time than we actually did eating food at Wagamamas. Then I had a well-overdue catch-up with Josh over some drinks to relax after a day of travelling.
👉 Friday Day – We met up for some seafood Tapas, went to see Valencia’s Cathedral (home to the Holy Grail, which was insane to see) and tried Horchata (like a Tiger Nut Milk) + Fartons, which both turned out to taste really nice (think of them like a longer version of an Iced Bun)
👉 Friday Evening – We went to 100 Burgers, for one of the best burgers I’ve ever eaten, before tasting the famous Agua de Valencia cocktail and losing our minds laughing while playing cards
👉 Saturday Day – We went for a 30km cycle (yep, you read that right), seeing all of the sights of Valencia, from visiting parrots to a trip around the beach. Bear in mind here that I haven’t been on a bike in over 14 years. I was absolutely terrified about this for ages – I’ll do a full wrap-up post on it soon 🙂
👉 Saturday Evening – We checked out this awesome mystery pizza place, where you select if you want a meat or vegetarian pizza, then they provide you one with random toppings – no two pizzas are ever the same! After that, we headed to a wine bar for some more cards
I honestly had a whale of a time; it was my first time ever going on holiday abroad with friends, and I loved it. I cannot wait to do more mini trips like this going forward; they’re going to be such a good laugh.
That’s all for today’s blog, what do you think? Have you been on any cool days out lately? Do you have any exciting plans coming up?
I’d love to hear your thoughts ⤵️
Thanks for reading and I hope you have a lovely day!
