Sweeney’s Reflections – August 2025

Good afternoon everyone,

Hope you’re having a lovely start to the weekend 🙂

2025 has been a whirlwind and a half so far, so I thought it would be good to take a few seconds to reflect on how the year is going for me so far, hopefully, inspiring you all to do the same for yourselves soon too. So, without further ado, let’s get into it.

Hello and Welcome to Sweeney’s Blogs!

The last couple of years have been quite the personal journey for me, however, if I had to choose one word to describe 2025 currently, it’d be have to be change. It’s a word that has been coming up so much this year, for a multitude of reasons, so, here’s a little rundown of some of the things that have bee doing on:

💼 Career developments – I left my Account Executive position at The Jargon Group in April, using the time to explore new options available in the market. While the job market has been rather tough, I’ve learnt a lot about myself and have had some cool opportunities come my way that I’ll share with you soon

🏖️ Holidays – I’ve been incredibly lucky to have been able to go on a few different holidays already this year, visiting three different continents in the opening eight months of the year. I’ve been to Valencia, the US and Tunisia, as well as my regular quarterly trips to London, making whacky memories and having good times along the way

😴 Thinking time – While it has been lovely to have had so many plans in recent weeks, with my cousin’s stag do, a weekend camping trip, among other things, it has made life rather hectic. Last weekend was my first weekend that I didn’t have any plans, where it was great to just fully switch off and unwind – you can never undervalue the importance of some quality downtime after all.

🔮 Thinking of the future – I’ve been asked quite a few times what my plans are for the future, and honestly, I don’t really know anymore. If the last couple of years have taught me anything, it’s that we can’t predict what’s going to happen next. With that being said, I’m just going to make the most of each day as much as I can 🙂

When it comes to my future jobs, where I’m going to live, and other things like that, we’ll see what happens. I know who I am as a person and my values really well, so when the time comes, I’ll make the choices that best align with those; there’s no need to worry.
