Good afternoon,
Hope you’re having a brilliant start to the weekend 🙂
On Monday, I came back from an awesome long weekend at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. We’ll take a look at some of what I got up to there in today’s blog!
Hello and Welcome to Sweeney’s Blogs!
Celebrating the arts and culture in all of its forms, the Fringe runs every August in Edinburgh, with events covering the whole city. During some of the days that I was there, there were over 3,000 events going on in a single day. How crazy is that?!

This was my first time visiting the Fringe, plus my first time ever going to Scotland, and what a couple of days it turned out to be! Here are some of my highlights ⤵️
👐 Big Little Sister – a heartfelt show jumping through the timeline of a sister growing up with her brother, who has severe learning difficulties. This play made you feel the whole range of emotions, from guilt to humour, familial love, care and a lot more. Based on the creator’s real life, it was fantastic to see and to raise awareness towards.
🎭 Club NVRLAND and Virtuoso – incredibly creative, fun and brilliantly put together performances. How people come up with ideas like this, I’ll never know, but you can never get tired of watching them.
🔥 Street Masterclasses – watching street performers do everything from juggling fire to performing magic, singing to playing instruments beautifully. The talent that was on show throughout the entire weekend was out of this world.
It was lovely seeing people from all over the world come together and enjoy something so talented and positive. Plus, it’s always a positive to spend time catching up with very good friends 🙏

If you haven’t checked out the fringe before, deffo consider it next year, you won’t be disappointed! Until next year, Edinburgh, you were a pleasure.
That’s all for today’s blog. What do you think? How’s your week been? Do you have any cool trips planned soon?
I’d love to hear your thoughts 😊
Thanks for reading, and I hope you have a lovely day!
James
