Goood morning 👋
Who’s someone that’s made a big impact on your life?
Sometimes in life, you meet people through the most random means; however, they become such good friends, you wouldn’t have it any other way.
Today’s spotlight is going to be about the lovely Molly Bevan.
Hello and Welcome to Sweeney’s Blogs!
To start this blog off, I want to take you back to October 2024, where a week or two before I was set to head down to Devon for a weekend with the Undefinable Community, I received a message from my friend Tom…

Tom had put myself and Molly into a group chat, and let us know that we’d been picked to lead an activity all around the theme of joy.
(At this point, I’d never met or spoken to Molly before, but I’d heard so many good things about her, that I knew we were going to get on really well)
Anyhow, we jumped on a call to plan it all through, and ended up having very similar ideas for how it was all going to go. Flash forward to the retreat again, and as soon as I met Molly, you could just see that she had this huge smile that was quite literally going to brighten up everyone’s weekend.
We ran our session on the Saturday morning/early afternoon, and, looking back, you could not have asked for a better person to be paired with.
That was how I first met the fab Molly Bevan.

Over the next couple of months then, every conversation I had with Molly was great – finding out more about her story, what’s helped shape her, and why she made the decision to start her business, Impactic.
Impactic is a business focused around the runnings of “Impactathons”, which are tailored volunteering days that match an organisation’s team’s skills with charity needs, powered by collaboration and designed for impact.
In essence, it’s working with businesses to help resolve the issues or challenges that charities are currently facing, to ultimately make a positive and tangible difference to everybody’s lives.
I won’t go in depth about Impactic in this blog, but I wanted to mention it, as it’s the perfect reflection of who Molly is as a person.

When I was coming up with the idea for this series, people like Molly were at the heart of it all. The people who might not always shout the loudest, but make your life the beautiful mystery that it is.
Molly, to me, gives off the loveliest older sister vibes. Someone you always want to have in your corner – whether it’s for the good times, the bad, or even just someone to sing karaoke with you on the way to a restaurant.
Over the last two years of being friends with Molly, we’ve gone to see shows, had weekends away with the Undefinables, been to the Edinburgh Fringe, got to go to West End Live in 2025, and so much more.

One of my favourite memories with Mol has got to be at the Fringe last year. Molly, Becca (Molly’s flatmate and an absolute character through and through) and I headed out for brunch ahead of another fantastic day in Edinburgh.
The vibe that morning was one of those wholesome ones where you can’t help but feel warm. We were chatting away, laughing, having the occasional deeper conversation, all while eating some brilliant food.
It felt like a safe space, and honestly, that’s something Molly naturally creates. Spaces where you can simply be yourself, with no questions asked and no assumptions made, just someone who genuinely wants to know you. The real you.
Whether it’s the work she does, the way she shows up as a friend or simply how Molly moves through life, she lives and breathes “intentional impact”.
What I mean by that is this: when Molly says she’s going to do something, she’ll do it. Not in a rushed or performative way, but in one that shows how deeply she cares about people and about doing things properly.

I can safely say that my life is a lot better by having people like her as very good friends.
So, here’s to Molly. Keep being amazing. Keep making a difference to so many lives. Keep being you.
The world is a very unpredictable place at the moment, you never know what impact posts like this can have on somebody’s day, week or life. Together, we can do way more than we realise.
If you’ve enjoyed reading today’s blog, I encourage you to take a second and think about someone who makes a big difference in your life.
A bonus too, why don’t you drop them a message and let them know?
Thanks a lot for reading, I hope you have a lovely day and I’ll see you in the next one,
James
