Gooood morning π
How’s your weekend looking?
When this blog goes live, I’m going to be in Edinburgh for a lovely long weekend at the Fringe. Let’s take a little bit of a closer look at this in today’s blog, seeing why I’ve been looking forward to this, what we can expect from the Fringe and more.
Hello and Welcome to Sweeney’s Blogs!
If you haven’t heard of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival before, think of it as a month-long celebration of the arts across the whole of Edinburgh. From comedy shows to people juggling fire, singers to historical dramas, it well and truly has something for everyone.

Last year was my first time going to the Fringe, and I can’t lie, I had an absolute blast. As soon as we all got back, we started putting in the plans for heading out there again this year, and have managed to get a bigger group going, which is going to be such a good laugh.
(If you do want to see some of the shows I saw last year, I did a little wrap-up of them here)
What’s good about the Fringe is that everyone is there to have a good time. I had a load of random chats with people last year from all walks of life, it helps remind you how good the arts and events are for bringing people together into one space.

When it comes to what we can expect to see from this year’s Fringe, who really knows?
In 2025, we had an Elton John vs the Sun sketch, dancing manatees, a Peter Pan-themed nightclub, a huge afterparty and more. So, regardless of what this year will be, it will certainly be eventful. Of course, I’ll keep you in the loop with how it all went when I get back π
I’ll leave today’s blog here for now. Thanks a lot for reading! What have you got planned for this weekend?
I’ll catch you in the next one π
