A Sweeney in Devon…

Last weekend, 25 of us from the Undefinable Community travelled to Devon for our 2024 Autumn Retreat. We’ll explore some of the different things we got up to during the trip in today’s blog.

Hello and Welcome to Sweeney’s Blogs!

If you haven’t heard of the Undefinable Community, we provide intimate spaces for those who intentionally live beyond conventional labels to collectively empower our creativity, authenticity and capability. For example, I don’t class myself solely as somebody who works in PR, I have a load of different interests and hobbies that make me a ‘multipotentialite’, or somebody who has many interests, passions and roles.

Here’s the group of us that went along to Devon last weekend: 🙂

As a group, we have four retreats each year, typically one every three months. These are weekend trips where we can catch up, have meaningful conversations, learn more about each other’s lives and genuinely have fun as friends and like-minded people. They are always a great laugh, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed going along to them all.

Here’s some of what we got up to:

👐 Caught up on downtime with some meditation, a hot tub and a brilliant walk and talk

🙌 Had fake product pitches, meaningful conversations about our lives and well-overdue catch-ups

😊 Molly and I led a session about identifying and celebrating different forms of gratitude throughout our lives. We split the sessions into three parts, one about the past, one about the present and then one about the future, to fully encompass the concept of gratitude, reflecting on the journeys that each of us is going through

💃 We, the committee, shared an update on what we’ve been working on behind the scenes and some exciting projects that are starting. I might share some more details about these soon, as we have some really cool ideas that are currently being worked on that could make for a really interesting read

I’ve loved going to all four retreats this year, and couldn’t be more grateful to everyone for making them the magical experience they are. Being the Head of Welfare for this group is a sheer pleasure, as I’m sure you can imagine 💙

Roll on our next weekender in January, I can’t wait for it!
