Good afternoon 👋
It’s about the day I was diagnosed with Peutz-Jeghers Syndrome, October 16th, 2014. We’re going to take a little look at why I do this in today’s blog.
Hello and Welcome to Sweeney’s Blogs!
I’ve told a lot of stories here over the years, from cultural awareness days to holiday away, graduating university to finding a new job and a whole lot more – it’s been a wild ride so far.

There are some stories that I have told before, that I’ll tell again, and will be telling for years to come.
Each year, I try to tell it a little differently, whether from a new angle, a new reflection or a new reason why it matters. Even if I didn’t though, that still doesn’t mean that repeating this story would in a year way be doing it a disservice, the complete opposite, actually.
In comms, we often think that once we’ve shared something, that’s it. It’s been done. Time to move on. However, that’s not strictly how it works – I approach the topic a little differently 💁♂️

Repetition isn’t a weakness. It’s how your stories build connection and resonate. Not everyone will have seen it before. Not everyone will hear it the same way. You never just who may be out there watching, waiting patiently for the right post to show up on their feed at the right time.
And sometimes, even you won’t fully understand its meaning until you tell it again. I know from personal experience that I have learnt so much more about certain parts of my life when I dive back into what lessons it is trying to teach me. It’s a very enlightening experience to be a part of as it goes.

So if you ever feel like you’re repeating yourself, remember: Old stories can still create new conversations. Who knows what kind of impact they can really have.
I’ll be dropping my Peutz-Jeghers post on Saturday, be sure to keep an eye out for it 👀
That’s all for today’s blog. What do you think? How’s your week ahead looking? Do you ever think of ways to retell certain stories from your life? Would you like to see more blogs like this on the page?
I’d love to hear your thoughts ⤵️
Thanks for reading, and I hope you have a lovely day!
