Good evening π
I wanted to write about something a little different for you all today. I talk a lot here on the page about understanding our pasts and taking the time to be mindful, however, one thing I haven’t spoken too much about as of late is preparing for the future. We’re going to be taking a look at this in today’s blog.
Hello and Welcome to Sweeney’s Blogs!
I am a very optimistic person, on the whole; however, I can have days where things aren’t necessarily going according to plan, or sometimes where I’m feeling a little bit flat. One thing the last couple of years have really highlighted for me is the importance of having something to look forward to on the horizon.

The idea for this sprang to mind when I was booking one of my holidays for next year on Thursday for next year, and since pressing the book button, I’ve been super excited for whatever else is going to come up in the meantime before the trip.
I’ll share more about this upcoming holiday more in the future, but for today’s blog, I want to try and be concise and stick on topic π
When I say it’s good to have something to look forward to, it’s not limited to big things like going on holiday, buying a new car, or going to a festival. Of course, in a couple of weeks’ time, we have Christmas, which is a time of year that I always really look forward to. This also extends to much smaller things, whether it’s seeing a friend, going for a coffee or even having some extra time reading a book in an evening.

The size or scale of this doesn’t matter too much in the long run – it’s about having these things that help you get through the tough times.
With the days getting shorter, the weather changing, and the world’s tensions continuing to shift, life can be a bit complicated to navigate. Having these little things in the diary isn’t a one-stop solution; however, they make everything a lot more bearable and remind us that after we’ve gotten through it, we’ll have something awesome waiting for us.

With all of this being said, there is only one question that remains for me to ask you in today’s blog – what’s something that you’ve got coming up that you’re looking forward to? It can be as big or small as you’d like – have a think about it for me π
Thanks for reading, and I hope you have a lovely day!
