Failure, it’s a topic that I’ve covered a few times before on the page, but I haven’t looked at it too much lately. I’ve been reflecting quite a bit on what failure means to me lately, and I thought that I would do a little blog on the subject as I go along 🙂

Connecting The Dots — Pointless Overthinking

I would have made a poor Sherlock Holmes, especially when it comes to solving the mysterious case regarding the Truth of our Being. In that regard, I behaved more like Inspector Clouseau, of Pink Panther fame. That’s not to say that I was as bumbling in life as the inspector was with his investigations; but…

Self Compassion

Be Inspired..!!

Self – compassion is giving yourself the same compassion and kindness that you would give a loved one. Charity begins at home, remember! A common stumbling block when thinking about self-compassion is the belief that it just means letting ourselves off the hook. When we say “it’s only human,” isn’t this just a way to blow off personal responsibility for our actions? But let’s look at this more closely. Why is Change so Hard?

Find Your Middle Ground

Photo by Harrison Haines on Pexels.com

It comes up in many conversations. We struggle with how things are, and what to do to bring about what we want in life. We ask ourselves “Why is change so hard?”

What a great coaching question. And one I will elaborate here in this re-post.

Three things come to my mind that are supported by scientific research:

  • We are hard wired to be in our comfort zone. It’s for human survival … and reinforced by how we deal with difficult emotions growing up. We react to the stressors with a fight, flight, or freeze response, then act out learned behaviors that we think will take away the discomfort and fear.
