Happy Saturday – the weekend is finally here!
This weekend is my local village festival, and in the spirit of it, I thought I’d do a little blog all about what I’m guessing is going to be another fantastic weekend all-around. So, grab yourself a cup of tea, and let’s get into it ☕️
Hello and Welcome to Sweeney’s Blogs!
On the third weekend of August each year, my local village, Pontardawe, has its own festival – where all of the pubs have live music playing all weekend, there are usually food stalls around the village, and everyone is in a brilliant mood.
I’m not going to go into a massive explanation about how events like this are great for supporting local business, as while that’s fully true, it’s not the angle I want to take in today’s blog.
Instead, I want to keep it a little shorter and focus on one of my personal highlights of weekends like this. Every year, they make for the perfect opportunity to catch up with so many people – loads of whom I haven’t seen in way too long.
Think of it as a slowing down of the usual crazy speed of life, and having a couple of more chilled-out days catching up with people, listening to some great bands, and enjoying the most of summer. So, that’s what I’m going to be doing this weekend, if it wasn’t obvious already from where this blog is going so far 😂
I’m going to be walking down to one of our local pitches to watch my brother play football in the first league game of the season, and then it’s off to whatever the rest of the weekend has in store.
