The Return of the Lockdown Poem – The Brown Minimalist

Lockdown has affected each and every one of us in one way or another over the course of 2020. For many, lockdown has left people with a lot more time on their hands, compared to what they are usually used to, and it can lead to people feeling lost over what to do in the day. As England entered their second lockdown, which was to be for a month from the 5th November to the 2nd December, The Brown Minimalist has wrote us a guest poem, which takes a look at some of the things we can do in these unusual times.

Hello and Welcome to Sweeney’s Blogs!

This is The Return of the Lockdown by The Brown Minimalist:

Lockdown is upon us once again,

Leaving us feel like a sense of normality is out of our scope,

I implore you to keep busy and don’t lose hope,

There are many creative things you can try to do during lockdown,

Be sure to have a go, don’t let your mood get flipped right upside-down,

Spend some time off of your computer your Netflix,

And instead potentially practise some new card tricks,

You could try and have an interesting political debate,

Or practise building your strength by lifting a weight.

Spend a day taking a peaceful walk in the countryside,

As that will help brush your problems & bad thoughts aside,

Spend time on the phone talking to friends,

And talk about the latest news & fashion trends,

Find out how to cook a brand new style of dish,

Be it vegan, meat, or containing fish.

Do some online learning to help yourself get better ahead,

Or spend time baking and make a loaf of bread,

So, as you can see, there are many things you can do during this lockdown,

Be sure not to let it flip your mood right upside down.
