Good morning 👋
How are you doing today?
I was catching up with a friend on Thursday, chatting all things social media, communications and the world of blogging, and it served as a reminder of something that I want to talk about a little more in today’s blog.
Hello and Welcome to Sweeney’s Blogs!
I feel like sometimes, it’s easy to take writing here on this page for granted.

I’ve been writing on this page for over 7 and a half years now – passing over the 800 blog mark a couple of weeks back.
Every Monday and Saturday, I get to open my laptop, start typing and then share my thoughts on all sorts of topics for you to have a read of, and hopefully enjoy/learn something from. I don’t say that lightly; it’s a huge privilege.
On my call with a friend on Thursday, I left it feeling so grateful. Grateful to have started this page, to have been growing it for as long as we have, for you reading these blogs, and for so much more – that’s a feeling that I never want to lose.

I don’t want to write a massive blog for you this Saturday; instead, I want to keep it simple.
I talk a lot about the past and the future on this page; however, for today, I want to remain in the present. Yesterday has already happened; tomorrow is anyone’s guess; today is something we live in – something we can understand more as time goes on and celebrate whatever is to come.
Sometimes, blogs don’t have to have a big lesson attached to them to be valuable; that’s my view on it anyway, haha. I’ve tried to shape this page in a way where I can type as I think and speak, and then figure things out as I go, which is where some of my best ideas have come.

In case you’ve got this far and were wondering how the image at the top of this blog is relevant too, don’t worry, I’ve got you covered. I took that photo at the Franklin Delano Roosevelt Memorial in Washington. I felt like it captured the vibe of this blog – simple, happy and a good memory that I’ve spoken on here with you all before.
So, I know I say it a lot, but thanks for stopping by, giving me some of your time and for joining me on this random journey.
I hope you have a fab weekend, regardless of what you decide to get up to 💃
I’ll hopefully catch you in the next blog on Monday!
James
