One Last Dance – A Sweeney Story

Good afternoon πŸ‘‹

How’s your weekend going?

I’ve shared a load of different stories with you over the years, whether they were from my childhood, my travels, ones I’ve heard from other people, or something else entirely. I love telling stories, and I want to revisit one in particular that I’ve shared a few times on here.

This is one I call “One Last Dance”, and it’s a short and sweet story about me and Nana. So, let’s take a look at it.

Hello and Welcome to Sweeney’s Blogs!

Music means a lot to me – it’s something that’s played such a big part in my life in countless ways at this point.

Whenever I start getting to know someone, I like to ask a few different questions to see what really matters to them and what’s helped shape them into who they are today. It’s along this train of thought that this story has come up a lot in conversations over the last couple of years.

I’m going to be sharing a blog in a couple of weeks with you all that takes the music question to a whole other level; however, for today, I want to focus on one song, one day, one moment in time. One story that has stayed with me over these last 7/8 years, and that’s so important to me.

If you’re new here to the page and/or to me, here’s a little context for you:

Growing up, Nana was my best friend. She was someone I used to tell everything to and was instrumental in helping me become who I am today.

Nana had Alzheimer’s for around 9-10 years before her passing back in January 2023. If you caught my blog a couple of weeks back, you’ll know that September is World Alzheimer’s Month, which makes this story all the more poignant. Anyways, this is a very positive story, that I hope puts a smile on your face this weekend.

Be sure to check it out and let me know what you think πŸ’ƒ

Thanks for reading, and I hope you have a lovely day!

James
