Two weeks from this coming Friday is Friday, 16th October 2026, a very important day for me personally. We’re going to take a little look at why this is and why days like this matter to people all over the world.
Hello and Welcome to Sweeney’s Blogs!
Wednesday, 16th October 2014, was an incredibly scary day for me personally, as well as for my whole family.
It’s a time I’ve tried to speak very openly about ever since I first started creating content back in 2018/2019. It’s a story that if you know me, or have been following either this page before or my content over on LinkedIn, that you may have seen me talk about quite a few times.
Yet, as the years go by, it’s something that I am going to carry on talking about, and am going to be continually trying to find new ways to rephrase it or view it from an alternative angle.
It’s the day that I refer to as my “Dance with Death”, or when I came three hours away from no longer being here and was first diagnosed with Peutz-Jeghers Syndrome.
Celebrating days like this, or moments in our lives that have played a huge part in shaping us into who we are, is something that I find fascinating.
I’m currently 27 years old. To some people, that’s really young; to others, it’s fairly old. To a lot of people, I’m a stranger; to others, I’m somebody they know a lot about and trust. That’s where these stories come in – they act as the thread that binds us all together as people. As the tethers to a strong relationship – one between one person and another, regardless of the size or scale.
When I first made Sweeney’s Blogs, I set out to start finding new ways to understand myself and to translate this continuous path of learning into stories and posts that, hopefully, could help others as they figure their own ways out through life’s many twists and turns.
Peutz-Jeghers Syndrome, or PJS, as some people find it easier to say, is an area that, while I have spoken about it a fair bit, there is so much that I haven’t yet even touched on. It’s something that does come to mind from time to time.
As we look ahead to the future, I’m not sure as yet how much more I’ll talk about it, it’s something I need to have a think about.
You know me, though – I’ve always viewed Sweeney’s Blogs as a reflection of who I am as a person. Whatever I decide to or not to do, I’ll deffo keep you guys updated along the way 🤝
