Goood morning π
How’s 2026 been for you so far?
The reason I ask is that we’ve already entered October, the 10th month of the year. How on Earth did it all happen so quickly?
With the start of this fresh month also comes time for a check-in on how my goals have been going for the year. So, let’s take a look at that a bit more closely in today’s blog.
Hello and Welcome to Sweeney’s Blogs!
At the start of each year, I like to take some time out to plan my goals for the next 12 months. To hold myself accountable, I then do blogs like this once quarter, to look back on how the last couple of months have been, what’s been going to plan, and what I can focus in on over the next few weeks.

So, as Q3 for 2026 has now come to a close, how have I been doing on my goals so far? Let’s take a look ‡οΈ
π Have loads of adventures and intentional trips away
2026 has been a mad old year for trips. I mentioned a load of them in my previous quarterly check-in, but even since then, there have been some cool updates. I’ve been camping in the South Downs, I’ve had a few nights staying over in Cardiff for a load of events, and coming up in the next two weeks, I have an awesome little trip to the US – more to come on that soon π
πͺ΄ Incorporate self-care and self-appreciation into my daily life
This is something I’ve been looking at a lot more lately – how I can naturally start being a lot kinder and more patient with myself across all parts of life. It’s an area that I still do have to do some thinking and talking about, but I have started making some v good progress in it, I’d say.
Part of this is about ensuring that I have regular times where I can try to fully switch off, and looking at ways where I can give back to myself more.
π Meet up with more connections and friends in person
This is one of the most defining goals of this year for me. It’s one I’ve had in some shape or form over the last couple of years, and I’ve loved getting to know so many people better in that time. Here’s to hoping that won’t change anytime soon.
As we look to the final three months of this year, there are so many celebrations and good times to come; they’re going to be a blast. I’ll have to share more about them as and when they start to happen – stay tuned there!
π Read 60 books from across cultures and genres
It probably comes as no surprise to the people who know me who are reading this that I’ve managed to smash through this goal already – I don’t even know how it happens anymore, I’ve just chosen to vibe with it at this point.
I’m currently on book 70 for the year, and have managed to read so many outstanding books over the last couple of months. I may start featuring some more of them on the page moving forward, we’ll see.
π£οΈ Use my voice to help others find theirs
I’ve got a very cool mentee, who is my first mentee to ever have a stutter. We’re still very much at the early doors with things, but I can’t wait to see what the next few weeks and months have in store for him. It’s going to be a great old adventure.

Well, there we have it; thereβs a little update from me. How about you?
Are you managing to stick with your New Yearβs Resolutions for this year? Whatβs something youβd love to tick off the list before we reach 2027 β itβs coming around faster than a lot of us realise.
As always, thanks a lot for reading – this page and I wouldnβt be here without people like you π
All thatβs left to say is: keep smiling, keep learning and keep on being you.
Until the next one,
Sweeney
