I’m thrilled to share that following my blog from a couple of weeks ago, my first blog for STAMMA is now live. We’re going to be taking a little look at what it’s about and why it matters to me in today’s blog.
Hello and Welcome to Sweeney’s Blogs!
I’ve had a stutter for as long as I can remember, and it’s something I’ve written a lot about here and over on my LinkedIn. With this new monthly blog, I now have the opportunity to tell these stories in a new way 🙏
To an audience who don’t know me (yet), who may be able to relate first-hand to some of the experiences, and can join in with the conversation.
I want to expand on this a little:
This kind of thing is why I love to write and work in the industry that I do. It’s the possibility of writing in a number of different styles, adapting what we want to say to best resonate with a target audience – there’s something about that I find so fascinating.
This is where my earlier point becomes all the more poignant – I’ve built my brand, my posts, my tone of voice here and on LinkedIn for years now. Writing for STAMMA is a whole new avenue to explore. A new writing style, a new way of telling stories, a new pathway to potential impact created – how cool is that?!
I’ve currently been working with the guys at No Boring Brands for over three months now, and I’ve been absolutely loving it so far. This all gave me an idea for a story. Whenever I start a new role, though, a few questions always come to mind:
🫢 What impact will starting a new role have on my speech?
😶 How do I tell my team about my stutter?
🫣 What happens if I start to lose control?
These questions helped form the idea for my first blog, which I cannot wait for people to get to read.
I’ve got some awesome ideas for future pieces that I’m super looking forward to bringing to life over the next few months. I’m not 100% set on how they’re going to look as of yet, but that’s all a part of the fun with this kind of thing.
A huge thank you to the STAMMA team. It’s going to be great working with you guys more moving forward. My second article is ready to go, but no spoilers here – more on that next month!
