2020 has finally come to a close, words that some people thought they would never hear. The year has been beyond anyone’s predictions, with numerous highs and lows dotted throughout the past 12 months. Over the course of 2020, Sweeney’s Blogs grew at a rate faster than I could ever have imagined, more than doubling our views from 2019. That’s what we are going to be looking at in this blog, how Sweeney’s Blogs did this year!
Hello and Welcome to Sweeney’s Blogs!
Today’s blog is going to be focused around the page, and how the page performed during 2020. We’ll be looking at the blog statistics for the year, some of the topics we covered, some of the blog series we released and more! I am thinking of doing a more personal evaluation of how 2020 went for me, however, I am going to take a bit of time to plan out how I am going to convert that thought into a reality!

Over the past 12 months, we have covered a vast range of different topics, including:
- Lockdown and COVID-19
- Mental Health
- Personal development and belief

We have looked at all of those topics above and so many more in the 142 blog posts during the year. A few of the topics, or themes, are recurring pieces, which tie in to a lot of the different blogs that I write here on the page.
Artwork for Sweeney’s Blogs
The page has been super lucky this year to have had 2 new pieces of art made for it. The first piece, which you can see below, was made by a very good friend of mine, Kate Owen, and can be seen on every one of the pages up on Sweeney’s Blogs!
The second piece of art, was made for the page was by Pearl Onyeneke has been created for the Blogapedia page on Sweeney’s Blogs. The design encapsulates so many of the different topics that we cover on the page, and is a great fit for the Blogapedia page! You can see Peral’s drawing below:
Blog Series in 2020
The start of 2020 saw the conclusion of the second Alzheimer’s series that I have wrote about on the page, the Alzheimer’s Avoidance series. This series was created to talk about some of the different methods/techniques to help reduce your chance of developing Dementia/Alzheimer’s. There are 13 blogs in the Alzheimer’s Avoidance series, and it is one that I can bring back in the future, should I get some more ideas, or more research about Alzheimer’s is released.

The Ideas for Lockdown series was one of the longest running blog series on the page and took a look at some of the things that people could do during the lockdowns that we faced in the year. COVID-19 and the subsequent lockdowns resulted in people having a lot more time that they usually would, so the series took a look at some of the different activities and tasks that you could do with the extra time.

The “What do we mean by Success?” series is the longest running series that I have ever done on the page, and takes a look at the term “success”, the different definitions that it takes, factors that affect the different kinds of “success” and the impact that it can have on your life. I thoroughly enjoyed writing this series and learned so much as I went along. There are 19 blogs in the series in total, and it is a series that I’d love to bring back at some point down the line.
