We’re nearly halfway through 2026 🤯

Goood morning 👋

We’re very quickly approaching the end of June (he says with only two days to spare). How that has happened so fast, I’ll never know.

This got me thinking the other day, and I came up with a couple of questions that I wanted to ask you today. So, let’s get cracking and see what they have in store.

Hello and Welcome to Sweeney’s Blogs!

Over the last couple of years, I’ve loved getting into introspection – seeing how I’m really doing and what I think about all sorts of different questions. It’s something that I’ve really enjoyed chatting about with people, to get their take on too.

As we reach the end of June, we’ll officially be over halfway through 2026, which is a bit crazy to think about.

However, instead of just saying that, I encourage you to take a little bit of time out of your day and think about some of these questions:

🤔 How has 2026 been for you so far?

🙌 What’s one thing you’d love to look back on at the end of this year and say, “I did that”?

🙏 Is there a word or phrase you’d use to summarise your year so far? If so, what is it? And is it something you’d like to carry with you through to the end of December?

I ask these because we sometimes forget how much we can still do with the time we have – whether that’s messaging someone, ticking off that activity you’ve been meaning to do for ages, or simply giving yourself some extra me time.

While time can fly past us, taking these regular check-ins opens our minds to so many new possibilities and helps us realise what we are capable of.

I used to leave most of my reflection time until the end of the year. By then, I’d either forgotten a lot of what had happened or realised too much time had passed to make the changes I wanted to make.

You haven’t got to share your answers, if you aren’t comfortable doing so – even taking a few seconds to think about them, is still very helpful.

If I had to choose a word for this year, I’d probably go with intentional.

I’ve started being much more intentional with my time: where I choose to spend it, how I try to show up for other people, the kind of work I do, and even the opportunities I say yes and no to.

For a long time, I think I just let things happen and went along with whatever came my way. This year, I’ve tried to take a slightly different approach:

I’ve been trying to make more conscious decisions about what matters to me and where I want to put my energy. I’m certainly not perfect at it, but it’s something I’d love to continue working on for the rest of the year.

It’s become one of the key words over the last couple of years, and it’s been great seeing how it can show up in your life, and how it makes you appreciate everything that little bit more. Who knows where it’ll take me next?

I’ll probably end up writing about it, so stay tuned 🤣

And with that, I’ll bring this blog to a close. I hope the first half of 2026 has been a fantastic one for you. I’ll save my more recap-style blogs for the future.

You may have noticed that I’ve been testing out a few new blogging styles/formats recently. Be sure to let me know if you’d like to see more of this kind of piece on the page, and I’d be more than happy to see what I can do.

As always, thanks a lot for checking out this blog and the page. I couldn’t be doing all of this without you, and the support never goes unnoticed.

I’d love to hear your answers to the above questions, if you’d be interested in sharing them 😊

Thanks for reading, and I hope you have a lovely day!

James
