Content is a huge constant in my life

Good morning πŸ‘‹

How’s everything been going for you lately?

I’ve been writing posts here on Sweeney’s Blogs, as well as over on my LinkedIn, for over seven years now, and boy, has a lot changed in that time. We’re going to take a little look at the journey and role of content in my life in today’s blog.

Hello and Welcome to Sweeney’s Blogs!

Content creation has become such a big part of who I am – helping me to make sense of the world around me, share stories and lessons learnt and grow from so many people all across the globe. It may sound clichΓ©; however, I don’t know where my life would be without it.

Throughout these last seven years, I have:

πŸ‘‰ I’ve lost grandparents and loved ones, while gaining lifelong friends, both here on home soil and way across the pond.

πŸ‘‰ I’ve been made redundant, while also having so many fantastic public speaking and personal development opportunities.

πŸ‘‰ I’ve moved to University, written about the ups and downs of the pandemic, and visited so many countries spread over three continents.

I’ve had good times aplenty, and my fair share of off days, too.

Here’s me visiting the Capitol Building in Austin, Texas!

Through all of it, I’ve kept writing – for over 900 LinkedIn posts and 700 blogs.

I hear a lot of people saying that social media is used as purely a highlight reel of somebody’s life. I’ve tried to approach it differently. Yes, I do always try to see the best of a situation; however, I also try my best to keep things as real and genuinely Sweeney-esque as I can.

Content creation for me is documenting the journey as it happens.

That means you see the highs, the lows and the middle ground – everything, as it happens. I try to capture as many perspectives as I can with my writing; however, remember that at the end of the day, it’s my interpretation of what’s going on. Other people are 100% entitled to their own views and opinions – sharing them in an open way is what makes content creation the brilliant thing to do that it is.

So to all of you who’ve followed along from the start, or joined along the way, thank you for being part of it 😊

Whether you’re an active part of the ride or a passive reader, I couldn’t be more grateful that I pressed β€œPost” for the first time back in 2019. I’ve got no plans on stopping anytime soon, don’t you worry – here’s to loads more years, stories and good times to come.

That’s all for today’s blog. What do you think? I originally posted this on my LinkedIn a couple of weeks ago; however, while I was in Ireland on holiday, I was thinking – why not share it here on the page for you all as well?

Thanks for reading, I hope you’ve enjpyed and that you have a lovely rest of the day 😎

James
