Future Blog Series

Hello and Welcome to Sweeney’s Blogs!

Today’s blog is going to act as an update blog focused around the future of different series on this page. I think that it is good to present a few of the ideas I have now and see if anyone wants them to become a series in the future or not. The ideas listed in this blog are not all of my ideas merely some of them but if you have an idea yourself for a series then please get in touch and we’ll discuss it further!

I have had one or two questions lately regarding the Looking Into Male Mental Health series. I do have every intention to bring the series back, I just need a bit of time to plan where the series was going. the last thing that I want to do is rush the blogs as that takes the care and sentiment away from them. As to when the series will come back, I am not 100% sure yet. I might bring the series back after the Stuttering in Mainstream Media series or maybe at a later date. When the series comes back is down to a few factors. If people really want to see the series return then it will come back sooner, if the Stuttering in Mainstream Media series does not go down very well then it’ll come back sooner and if I get a lot of messages regarding the series then I will bring it back sooner!

One series that I’ve wanted to do for a while is Into the Mind of a Bully. I feel like it would be quite a good series to run as it will encompass both personal experiences alongside factual evidence. The series will start off by talking about the most common reasons for bullying then will take a deeper look into it. I have had a lot of experience in regards to being bullied in my life so I think that I can portray a very real story.

Another potential series that I can run is one based off of Respect. Respect is a topic that is often refrained from talking about by most people but I think it could make quite a good series. We can take a look at the modern world and see what respect is nowadays and if there is still a divide between different social groups. I feel like this series can have a lot of different contrasting views and will make for some good discussions in the comments.

A sadder more emotional series that I could run would be called Watching them Fade Away. This series will look at the progression of Alzheimer’s and Dementia and how you are watching a loved one slowly fade away from in front of your very eyes. As mentioned previously it would be a sadder series but I feel like it would be a very informative one and will help deliver a strong message.

I am also thinking about possibly running a few series based off of University Students. There are quite a few series I could run off this topic such as student burnout and what university is actually like for a student. I believe these series will be good to take a look into student life and to show people that it is not always as easy as some people assume. This series will be quite fun to write as it will allow me to perform self-evaluation whilst writing it.

The last series that I want to talk about in today’s blog is all about the Self Hate Cycle. I have talked about the Self Hate Cycle in a previous blog in my Looking into Male Mental Health series but feel like it would be an excellent topic to write a series on. As discussed in the blog, https://sweeneysblog.com/2019/06/11/looking-into-male-mental-health-blog-9-personal-experience-2/, the self-hate cycle is quite dark and bleak however there are ways to break out of it. I believe that if I were to run a series on it then I could balance out some of the negatives with the positives and show that if you are in this cycle there is always a way out, no matter how hard and long it may seem.

Thank you for reading today’s blog! What series would you like to see in the future? Are there any series that you want to see return? Are there any series that you are not a fan of and don’t want me to write? Do you have any ideas that you think would make a good series or even an individual blog? Let me know what you think of the blog and your answer to the questions in the comments below!

Thank you all for reading and I hope you have a great weekend! Remeber keep Highlighting the I in Difference!

Guest Blogs and Page Updates

Hello and Welcome to Sweeney’s Blogs!

Today’s blog is going to talk about Guest blogs as well as a few updates coming to the page. There have not been any guest blogs on my page yet but I am hoping to start publishing a few in the future. Guest blogs allow people other than myself the chance to post content on my page. Guest blogs are something that I am trying to encourage more now and I hope to see a few in the upcoming weeks.

There are lots of different ways that a guest blog can work. The first way is if get in touch with me about an idea for a blog that you want to see in the future. If you just want to give me the idea and then allow me to write the blog around that then you will be credited in the blog itself and I will do my best to work around the idea that has been presented.

Another way that guest blogs can work is if you write the blog by yourself and then send it to me. If people choose to do this way then I will just scan through the blog quickly to see if it is alright then will publish it as soon as I can. When scanning through the blog I will aim not to change anything, however, if there is a part that doesn’t look right or if it could be reworded a bit then I would get in touch with you and discuss that first.

I am also more than happy to sit down and work on writing a blog alongside someone if they have an idea and are not quite sure how to write it. This can be done in a number of ways. We could discuss the idea in depth and then develop a plan for you to write the blog off, you could make a plan and I could write the blog or we could just write the blog step by step ensuring that we are both happy at the end of each stage.

As you can see from some of the ideas above there are lots of ways that a guest blog can be written. If anyone does have an idea for a blog then please get in touch with me. You will be given credit for your work and if you want to could become a regular writer on the page.

During the past few weeks, I have been working on updating the sidebar for the page. I have reorganised the way that the sections are presented into an order that I think is good. There is a way for me to install a chat room like function for the page that will allow everyone to communicate with each other like they are in a chatroom. I wasn’t sure whether to add this function in yet or wait for a better time in the future. What does everyone think? Should I include the chatroom now or wait a little bit?

As well as this there will be some changes to the series that I write on the page soon. I will be pausing the Male Mental Health series after one or two more blogs and then starting up a new series talking about Stuttering in Mainstream Media. I want the Male Mental Health blogs to stay fresh and to have a real meaning behind them which is why I am putting the series on hold for a little while. I do not want to just write blogs for the sake of it as the blogs have to have a purpose and have to have a meaning behind them or else there is no point in even writing them.

I will probably be starting the Stuttering in Mainstream Media series in around two to three weeks, dependent on when the Male Mental Health series finishes. I am not sure on the length of the series yet as there are a lot of different things that I can talk about so we can discuss that in the future when the series is well underway.

I believe that is all I want to talk about in today’s blog! Thank you all for reading and I hope you enjoyed! Today’s blog was a bit different from my usual work but I do aim to do update blogs every so often. I am thinking of launching a new advertising campaign for the site too but am not quite sure how to do it. Let me know what type of advertising you think is best!

Thank you all for reading,

Feedback and Reviews

Hello and Welcome to Sweeney’s Blogs!

Today’s blog is going to be a fairly short blog talking about feedback and reviews. Feedback and reviews are essential tools that I use to help monitor the content I am writing. These tools allow me to see the content that people want to see as well as the content that they do not want to read. It is a great help to me when planning future blog posts and new series that I am going to do.

There are several ways in which you can help the page via feedback and reviews. Firstly you can comment at the end of each blog. The size of the comment doesn’t matter, simply that you make one. COmments allow me to see f people enjoy reading the posts, can relate to the post or have any extra insight that I might have missed out. A simple comment saying “great post” helps me see that the content I am creating is firstly what I want to write about and secondly what people enjoy reading.

Another way you can provide feedback on the blogs is through the contact page. You can access the contact page through our main menu or you can use the following link: https://sweeneysblog.com/contact/. The contact form asks you for a few basic details such as your name and email address then will give you a message box where you can add any comments you have about the page.

If you want to get directly in touch with me then you can do so via the following email: SweeneysBlogs@outlook.com. This email address is the account that I use for the business, only emails regarding this page will come through there so any messages should not get lost.

The last way you can get in touch with me to provide feedback is through the blogs Facebook page. Our Facebook Page is called Sweeney’s Blogs and can be accessed through the icon on the sidebar or through this link: https://www.facebook.com/SweensBlog/?view_public_for=382069269017820. On this page, you can message me directly or write a quick review. Reviews are a great way for me to see how the page is doing and if people are enjoying the content that is being provided.

That is all I want to talk about in today’s blog! I understand this is a smaller post to what I usually do but it is an important post nonetheless. The blogs will be back to romal next week having one on the Looking into Male Mental Health series and then one on a different topic.

Thank you for reading, let me know what you think. If you have a minute or two to spare please leave a quick review of the page on our Facebook page!

May Mental Health Awareness Month

Hello and Welcome to Sweeney’s Blogs!

Today’s blog is going to be one of a few I am going to be doing this month about May, the Mental Health Awareness month. I am hoping to do a few blogs about this topic throughout the month which are going to talk about the importance of Mental health, what we can do as a society to help recognize Mental Health as well as the steps we need to take to conquer the challenge and obstacle that is the human mind.

Mental health is a topic that I feel very passionate about. Mental Health is one of the key foundations of why I built this website, to talk about my experiences and share about how I put myself back together after I fell apart. I have done several series in the past about Mental Health and I’m hoping to do more in the future. these series range from talking about Alzheimer’s in my Alzheimer’s Acceptance series, to the importance of individuality in my Being Different series, to my most recent series Looking into Male Mental Health which looks into the epidemic that we are currently facing which is Male Mental Health.

The spotlight has recently been shone on Mental Health and now is the time where we need to talk about it and try and tackle it. It is all well and good people saying that they want to help defeat Mental Health but unless steps are taken then it is just words. Words can be very powerful if acted upon however if they are just said and not acted upon then they hold no value in modern day society.

Picture1.png

One of the most important things to remember when talking about Mental Health is that help is out there. Whatever the problem is, there will always be a way to resolve it, no matter how difficult it may seem at the time. Simply talking can be a great step forward when it comes to solving problems. Learning to share your problems to people you trust can be a huge weight off your shoulders in the long run.

The importance of asking for help is often overlooked in modern day society, it is a point that i preach in a lot of my blogs. Knowing when to ask for help shows a strength that should be valued highly in life. If you feel like you are in a good place currently then why not try and reach out to an old friend or colleague? I have had a few friends who have got back in contact with me recently who I haven’t spoken to since school and it does make you feel so much better about yourself.

Picture2.png

Simply messaging someone saying “Hello” can make the world of difference. Catching up with old friends or family can make them feel much better about themselves whilst also giving you the chance to rebuild your relationship with them. Reaching out to people is something that is slowly starting to be focused on recently but is something we need to think about more.

As it is the month for Mental Health Awareness I want to see if I can make a difference. let’s start a challenge on this page to see if we can start to make a difference. the challenge is: for every person that reads this post, message one of your old friends who you lost contact with. Use it as a catch up, the chance to talk and discuss what is happening in your lives and maybe what has changed since the last time you spoke. Let me know if you do it and how it goes!

That’s all for the blog today! What do you all think? I understand that this blog is smaller than my usual posts but I am hoping to do a few more of these blogs before the end of the month. Are you going to get in touch with one of your old friends? Do you think having a Mental Health Awareness month is a good thing? Can/ Will it make a difference? Let me know what you think in the comments or via the contact page!

Thank you all for reading, I hope you all have enjoyed today’s post! Let me know any feedback you have, be it positive or negative!

Blog Donations: What are they and How do I do it?

Hello and Welcome to Sweeney’s Blogs!

Today’s Blog is going to talk about the new payment/donation option found on my blog. I have added this feature in to try and earn some more money to reinvest into the business. I am first going to be talking about what the money that the donations collected will go towards and then I will be going into how to actually donate.

Any donations collected from the new feature will be reinvested into the business. This can be through things like marketing for the website, upgrading the content on the website or for creating events hosted by the business. All of the money collected will be used for business use and business use only.

In regard to how to donate. There is now a button on the sidebar of every page of my site. This button is the donation button. The donation amount is automatically set to ÂŁ1. If you want to donate anything more than one pound then you can change the quantity. The quantity relates to how many pounds you will be donating. If you select a quantity of 5 then you will be donating ÂŁ5 and so on.

The money goes through a PayPal account, you will need an existing PayPal account to donate or you can create an account in a few minutes. I have decided to use PayPal as it is one of the most secure ways to transfer money online.

Thanks for reading today’s blog! I know this blog was very different to what I usually do but I thought it would be important to talk about the new feature on the blog! Let me know what you all think!

Content Schedule Update – February 2019

Hello,

This blog is going to add as an update blog for the upcoming weeks. I am going to be briefly talking about what I am hoping to do in regards to content in my blogs for the upcoming weeks.

As my blog is still in it’s early stages I think it is important to briefly cover every field that I want to talk about. I will be starting some ‘blog series’ that I hope to carry on in the future.

Over the next few weeks my blogs will be focused around Mental Health, Stress and Stuttering. I am interested in going into University Stress for Students in the future but I am still thinking about how I am going to do this.

This is only meant to be a short blog providing answers for the large variety of blogs that have been released lately. I will be posting a blog sometime this week about how I write poems and how they help manage stress. If anyone has any requests for blogs or questions please get in contact with me.

Thanks for reading and keep an eye out for my future blogs!

This website revolves around Alzheimer’s, it talks about what it is, how you can recognise it, ways to accept it and things to do to try and get past it. Some of the blogs I will be writing will be expanding some of the points I make on the website. If you would like to visit the website please do, the link is a follows: http://www.dontforgetme.org.uk.

Otherwise please enjoy the blogs that i will be writing, if you have any questions or queries or comments about a blog feel free to contact me. The best ways would either be through the Don’t Forget Me website or email me: Sweeneyblogs@outlook.com.
