Sweeney’s Stuttering Update – March 2021

Over the past year, I have gone on a very unusual journey with my speech and my Stutter. The past 12 months have seen a lot of ups and downs, and I have learned a lot about my Stutter, and the role that it plays in my life. While I usually keep these observations to myself, I have been thinking that they could make for the odd interesting ‘update’ post, and that’s exactly what we’ll be looking at today!

Let’s take a look at some of the thoughts I have, and things I have learned, about my Stutter in March 2021!

“Intuition is the whisper of the soul” – Jiddu KrishnamurtiPhoto by Pixabay on Pexels.com I look at intuition as a muscle. It is something we all have and the more we use it, the stronger it becomes. Last week, I posted an invitation to LISTEN TO YOURSELF more every day this month and see how […]

Would you like to find out more about Atalanta and The Calydonian Boar Hunt? What about the story of Jason & the Argonauts, and their quest for the Golden Fleece? Are you interested in discovering more about Theseus and the Minotaur? What if I told you there was a book which looked at all of these stories, and so many more?

8 Ways to Stay Mentally Healthy During Lockdown and Self-Isolation — Anxiety Bear

It’s strange to think that this time last year Covid-19, lockdown and self-isolation were words/phrases that didn’t overly exist in our vocabularies like they do today. It’s almost funny in a ‘if I don’t laugh I’ll cry’ kind of way. Regardless of your situation, you’ve most likely felt the impact of one or all of […]

Burns Night 2021 – The US Sun

THE life and work of poet Robert Burns – officially voted the “greatest ever Scotsman” – is celebrated around the globe each year in January. Sweeney’s Stuttering Series?

I have written quite a lot of blog series here on Sweeney’s Blogs, and as I haven’t done one for a couple of weeks now, I was thinking, should they make a return? I have been considering bringing blog series back to the page for some time, so what I thought I would do over the next couple of blogs is to talk through some of my ideas for potential series, and see if anybody is interested in them!

Today’s blog is going to be about my potentially new Stuttering Series.

My Thoughts on “Mythos” by Stephen Fry

Mythos: The Greek Mythos Retold is a book about Greek Mythology, written by Stephen Fry. The book centralises around the Gods of Ancient Greece, their relationship with both their parents, The Titans, and with humans, of which they created. I absolutely love learning about Mythology, so as soon as I saw this book on Amazon, I bought it immediately and it was an absolute pleasure to read through.

In today’s blog, we are going to be taking a look at some of my thoughts about Mythos and its connection to Greek Cosmology.

My Stuttering Journey through 2020

2020 was a massive year for me, and yet, despite all of the highs and lows experienced in those 12 months, one of my key takeaways from the year would be the lessons that I learned throughout my 2020 Stuttering Journey. My Stutter has played a very large role in all of my life, I wouldn’t ever say that wasn’t the case, but 2020 seemed to be a year in which everything that happened, seemed to link back to that topic, my Speech and my Self-Confidence.

This is what we’ll be looking at in today’s blog!
